Migration has fostered the existence and constancy of migration flows. In order to clarify the concept, it is important to provide the definition of migration flow presented by the World Organisation for Migration, which is as follows: «number of international migrants arriving in a country (immigrants) or leaving a country (emigrants) in the course of a specific period».
Although there are different reasons for people to leave their country to go to another country, the most common are economic issues and conflicts in their country.
The increasing number of migratory movements makes it necessary to create policies in charge of border control and access of people, given the possibility that they may enter the country regularly or, on the contrary, irregularly.
In this context, it is also important to define the concept of a refugee, as it is very common to confuse the two terms. The concept of refugee is closely related to the presence of dangers in a place, whether due to conflict, lack of security for reasons of sex, religion, sexual orientation, etc. that force a person to leave that place because their safety is not guaranteed.
